Philadelphia Phillies and the Great Depression; how could something so right be placed in the same sentence as something so wrong? On March 24, 2010 Bruce Kuklick will give Camden County College students and all others interested the opportunity to understand how these two items are related. The event will consist of a lecture presented by Kuklick, followed by a question and answer session open to the audience. This topic is part of the “America’s Great Depression: A Social and Cultural History” series being held at CCC. Along with the Phillies, the lecture will include a history of “old Philadelphia Athletics from the late 1920s to World War II,” writes Allison Green, Project Director for the event.

This part of the series is being held at Civic Hall inside the Connector Building of the Blackwood campus at 7 p.m., free of charge. “The entire series is full of interesting topics,” said Barbara Palmer, Project Coordinator for the Civic Leadership & Responsibility Department. For those interested in attending this or any other part of the series, register online at http://www.camdencc.edu/civiccenter or stop by the Center for Civic Leadership and Responsibility located in the Connector Building of the Blackwood campus.
