The Transfer Fair of Camden County took place March 24th 2010 for transfer students in the Atrium in the Connector building. Many different colleges were present speaking to students to get them interested to attend their college and college programs. Some colleges that were present were Rutgers, Drexel, Jefferson University, William Patterson University, etc. The job of the college representatives were to give students information on their college and the opportunities they can have attending their college. Students also had the chance to ask questions they had about the different universities such as financial aid help, locations, certain class requirements and so on. One University that most students were asking for information from was Rutgers University. An admissions councilor, Jason, gave good information regarding the student’s question. He told them that Rutgers gets over 50,000 applications a year and usually gets up to 15,000 accepted. There is also three different campus locations which is good for students who want to stay close or go farther away. Most students can also apply directly to the University. What was good about the Fair was that even students who wer undecided had the chance to look around and pick a couple of different choices to see which University they would like to transfer too. One student, Anthony Kelly, is a Sophomore and Camden County College and is majoring in History. He wants to become either a History teacher and/or write History books. He was looking for a University that is more down South and has a baseball program that he can join. This event gave students many useful knowledge and information on continuing their education. The Camden County College Transfer Fair gives their students the opportunity to do just that.
