“Donating to the food drive can help feed families in need this winter,” said campus officials.
The college is looking for donations of any non-perishable, protein-enriched canned food item at any of the three Camden County College campuses. On the Blackwood campus, donations are being taken at the College Community Center in the second floor lobby. At the Rohrer Center in Cherry Hill, donations are being taken in the lobby. On the Camden campus, they are being taken in the technology center first floor college hall lobby.
All donations will be given to the Food Bank of South Jersey.
“This year’s need is greater than last year. If every person donated only one can, it would make a great difference,” said Jackie Tenuto, assistant dean of students. Due to economic struggles these last few years, families are needing help in many areas. Donating to the food drive will help those families and help bring the families a happier holiday season.
“I have donated in the past and plan on donating this year as well,” said Christina M. Torres, a Camden County College student. “I hope more people will donate than last year.”
“In past food drives, there has been a significant amount of donated food to help many families in need. This year is no different,” Tenuto stated.
The college has 50 large containers to fill. Campus officials are anticipating there will be more donations than last year.
