BLACKWOOD – Camden County College’s Office of Student Life & Activities hosted a holiday luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 8 in the Madison Connector Lobby at the Blackwood Campus.

Students and faculty enjoyed music, food, caricatures and holiday spirit. The school’s radio station was there playing Christmas music. Meatball sandwiches, salad, a variety of drinks, and brownies were served. Giveaways included a romance and mystery novel “Crime Scene at Cardwell Ranch” by B.J. Daniels, a Camden County College hat, a package of Schick Hydro razor and shaving gel, a travel kit of feminine products by Kortex, and Garnier sample shampoos.

The flyer advertised the luncheon by inviting students and faculty to “relax and enjoy time with your friends before finals.” This event was planned long before the holiday season.

“Fall event planning takes place in the summer,” said Jackie Tenuto, the assistant to the dean of students.

Tenuto explained workers put the final touches on the event just about a month ago. But something was different this year than at last year’s holiday luncheon.

“Last year we had group shot photo pictures with the gingerbread man, but this year we got caricatures,” said Tenuto.

The school got three caricature artists for free. They were set up in a row. Students gathered in lines and while waiting, enjoyed watching the artists caricature their fellow classmates.

Andrea Simone, a second-year student at CCC, had attended last year’s holiday luncheon as well.
“It’s the first time I’ve ever had it done. … He even spelled my name right, too! I’m shocked!” said Simone.
