BLACKWOOD – Camden County College will hold a lecture concerning the use of positive behavioral supports in the classroom for children with autism spectrum disorders. This lecture will be held in Civic Hall inside Camden County College’s Connector Building on the Blackwood campus from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 4.
Board Certified Behavior Analysts Nicole Pellicari and Laura Henderson will be the speakers at this night’s event. Pellicari and Henderson will describe how to implement positive behavioral supports in the classroom to create optimal learning environments for students with autism spectrum disorders. This event will be the fifth of six autism awareness events held at CCC this year.
Sue Gausby, a 54-year-old instructional aide for an autistic classroom, plans to attend this event on Monday evening. Gausby says, “I am excited to learn more about these types of disorders and plan to attend the remaining events at CCC this year.
Gausby commends CCC for having these events, “It’s great that the college wants to raise awareness for this terrible spectrum disorder, we need all the help we can get.”
