BLACKWOOD – On Wednesday, April 27, Camden County College held its annual Spring Fling.

This was a day full of fun in the sun. It was also a meet and greet for the students and the clubs at the school. All the student activity clubs had stations that were set up with tables and souvenirs. This was so the clubs could recruit future members and make those aware of the programs available.

This event was put together by the assistant dean of students, Jacqueline Tenuto. Tenuto was very pleased with the outcome of the event. A lot of work went into making sure the students would enjoy the festivities.

Spring Fling was also a place where the students were introduced to the CCC Dance Ensemble, which danced twice for the people who were able to see it.

“We have been doing this for years,” Daniel Cook, the president of the club, said about how long the club has been together. “We are just looking for some new members and some more supporters.”

Amber Dukes, another team member, added, “We are the best so get your popcorn ready” right before they took the stage to give a performance.

With all these activities going on, refreshments were a must. Students got to enjoy a free meal as well as listen to music from the campus radio station WDBK.

Student Jasmine Barber said, “Wow there is nothing like a free BBQ” as she laughed, “but I’m really enjoying myself.”

Her best friend, Lisa Reed, added, “Yes, they should do this every week to lighten the stress load of school,” as she referred to all the hard work she has done to make sure she will graduate next December.

The Spring Fling started at 11 a.m. and ended at 2 p.m. The end was the only part of the event where students didn’t seem to be enjoying themselves, so to spice up the mood, the WDBK DJs began to play line dance music. DJ Will of WDBK said, “This was an awesome event but all good things must come to an end, so let’s end it on a good note.”
