BLACKWOOD – Dr. John Pesda, a history teacher at Camden County College for more than 30 years, hosted an event based on “Mad Men” and America in the 1960s on April 25 in Madison Hall.

The audience was mainly middle-age or older and had graduated or attended CCC. The event was open to anyone who had an interest in learning about the topic.

Pesda covered the 1960s in America and he used the television series “Mad Men” to help his audience understand. Throughout the presentation, he showed mini clips from the “Nixon/Kennedy election” episode. After each clip, Pesda explained the content of the clip and was open to questions.

The event was educational, especially for those who didn’t know much about that era in history. Those in attendance saw how useful “Mad Men” was to Pesda because rather than explain every detail, he used the show as a reference.

The event was from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Afterward, those who still had questions could ask Pesda and he would answer them the best he could or he would accept questions by e-mail.
