BLACKWOOD – The Camden County College Athletic Department will hold its annual turkey trot on Nov. 15 in front of the Papiano Gymnasium and the turkey trot will start from there and go around the entire areas of the college and toward College Drive and then back to the gymnasium. The turkey trot and other local charities around Blackwood will do this to provide food and other necessary items for families in need, especially with Thanksgiving and Christmas just around the corner.

Peter DiLorenzo, who is head of the Athletic Department, says, “This is going to be great for everyone involved at the college, from the administration, to the athletic department, etc. and it is going to provide many charities and the families enough food and other items for the holidays.” DiLorenzo will be in charge of this event along with some of his assistants and other athletic department instructors to help make this turkey trot run smoothly and to get people to be advocates in making this event beneficial for the charities that are helping this turkey trot.

Zack Pearce, a student here at Camden County College who is going to do this turkey trot, says, “This is going to help a lot of families who don’t have much food and other items to have during the holidays. I am glad that the athletic department and also Camden County College are doing this event and to help a great cause in the process.” Pearce says he might also get other students to join in this turkey trot so this event will have a huge turnout with many students helping this cause.

Registration will begin at 11 a.m. Nov. 15, when everybody can sign up to do the turkey trot. The event will begin shortly after students sign up for the event. Students may also bring in a donation or items such as non-perishable foods to the local charities that will be on site during the turkey trot. To find out more information about the turkey trot, students can go to the college website at http://www.camdencc.edu or they can visit its Facebook page. Postings inside the college also have details.
