BLACKWOOD – Camden County College’s annual Spring Fling is almost here.

Spring Fling brings music, food and other fun activities together for the students. Spring Fling will be held on April 25 at the Blackwood Campus, with entertainment, free lunch and live music being provided by student activities. There will also be outside organizations in attendance.

Jackie Tenuto, who is in charge of running student activities and the Spring Fling, is excited to put on this event for her seventh year. She says, “The Spring Fling is a celebration of spring … it is one last day for the student to have fun on campus before final exams begin.”

She is expecting this year’s event to be bigger and better than ones in the past. There will be much entertainment for people to enjoy; there will be games, food and live music provided by the students and staff of WDBK. A few things she has in the works for this year are having a big blow up slide and volleyball net, she will know these for certain when the event gets closer. “We will most likely have them,” says Tenuto.

She wants this event also to be informative. Along with all the clubs and athletic teams, there will be employers, a health van, the Gloucester Township police and a few others in attendance to provide information.

Every year WDBK provides the music for the Spring Fling. Station manager Jamie Myerson likes to do this to get the students to be connected to the event. This year WDBK will provided a live performance by John Dutton, a local acoustic pop rock musician. This isn’t the first time they have had a live performance, two years ago they had a live band perform. Myerson says, “I like the idea of bringing back another live performance to change it up from how we did it last year.”

Last year WDBK played live music, which was chosen by all the DJs at the radio station. Myerson thought it ran well. “Last year the students were able to do a lot to be a part of this event and be connected to the school,” Myerson says.

The Spring Fling will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 25 at Camden County College’s Blackwood campus, 200 College Drive, Blackwood. The event is free to all students, faculty and staff. For more information call 856-374-4912, or email Jtenuto@faculty.camdencc.edu.
