BLACKWOOD – The 45th Annual Student Show in The Marlin Gallery on April 25 will be an event where students will get together to show off their work and visitors can stop in whenever they like.

The student show was first organized by Dr. William Marlin, who established a gallery in Lincoln Hall, said Therese Marlin, the art director in charge of the event. Every year since then, the gallery has put on a student show, where selected students display their work.

The students’ art teachers must pick the students to submit their work if they choose to, Marlin said. Then two outside judges, who are professional artists, select the pieces to be included in the show. Of the pieces in the show, they pick first-, second- and third-place winners to receive prizes. The prizes have varied from year to year but this year they will be gift certificates to the book store.

The students’ work will be in the gallery for several weeks but the prizes will be presented April 25. The judges will decide the prizes in the afternoon and then they will be presented in the evening along with refreshments and a chance to view and discuss the art with the artists.

The 45th Annual Student Show will take place in The Marlin Gallery on the Blackwood campus of Camden County College on April 25. Visitors may come anytime throughout the day and the refreshments will be served in the evening. For more information, call (856) 227-7200, ext. 4201 or email artgallery@camdencc.edu.
