BLACKWOOD – Camden County College will continue to offer information sessions about the nursing programs at the college.

The upcoming sessions will be held at the Camden County College campuses in Blackwood, Camden and Cherry Hill. Several other sessions have already taken place this semester.

The college offers several nursing programs in which interested students can enroll. The programs include a certificate program for practical nursing, Our Lady of Lourdes Cooperative Nursing Program, liberal arts and science: pre-nursing option, and a bachelor of science in nursing program through Rutgers University in New Brunswick.

Students can expect to hear general information about the nursing programs when attending one of the nursing information sessions. “Program details will be discussed as well as admission deadlines, prerequisites, student expectations, etc.,” the college website stated.

Colleen Clark, the nursing adviser at Camden County College, said, “Nursing program admission is very competitive so students need to know that grades earned should be A and B.”

The nursing information sessions are offered many times a year. “Camden County College information sessions are offered several times per semester. Camden County College offers frequently so that all incoming students can plan a path as early as possible,” Clark added.

Sessions are about an hour and a half long and don’t provide students with individual advisement. However, Clark stated students planning to attend should be prepared to take notes at the session and should prepare a list of questions before the event to ask the instructions at the session.

The next nursing information sessions will be March 28, April 7, April 18, April 23 and May 16 and will be spread out among the three Camden County College campuses. Students are not required to RSVP for the sessions.
