BLACKWOOD – The giving season is here again. Almost anywhere you go will have clothes drop offs or donations and Camden County College is one of many. From Nov. 1, 2012 until Dec. 7, all Camden County College campuses will be having a clothes donation. Any clothes are accepted, but due to the climate this time of year, coats and outerwear are preferred.

“There’s been clothing drives at Camden County College for as long as I can remember,” says Renee Pollard, Student Support Services. Although the clothes have not been counted yet, it is estimated that the Blackwood campus has received about 50 items so far.

On Dec. 7, all of the items will be collected, counted and donated to a social service organization. “For the past couple of years we have donated to the DOT Organization,” says Pollard.

At the site of the clothes drop off, Crista Rowan, a first-year student, donates an old coat and some sweaters. “Giving to others is a great thing. Whenever you can do something good, you should,” she says. “Especially during this time of year when it’s really cold out,” Rowan continues.

Do something good this season and look through your old, gently used clothes and give what you can. The clothing drive will be open for donators over the next week. You can find the clothing bins on the second floor of the College Community Center outside of room 200.
