BLACKWOOD – Every year the faculty members in the Art Department at Camden County College submit their best work for the Annual Faculty Art Exhibit. The exhibit, which this year will be held from Nov. 13 to Dec. 13, gives faculty members the opportunity to show off some of their greatest works of art.

The Faculty Art Exhibit will take place in the Marlin Art Gallery in Lincoln Hall. By Brianna Cutter, CCC Journalism Program
In previous years, faculty members have submitted art in the forms of paintings, sculptures, photographs and even some film. Students will find that some new professors will be exhibiting their work alongside of the veteran professors this year; however, all of the work that will be exhibited is new.
About the new and different work, Kay Klotzbach, a visual arts faculty member, says, “Artists are always trying to improve their work. Whether that happens of course is open to debate. Sometimes you take a step backwards or sideways before going forward.” Klotzbach recommends that students check out the exhibit. “Students can find out what the faculty are doing when they are not teaching them,” she says.
Not only are the faculty members excited about the exhibit, but students too are preparing to stop by the exhibit when it opens. Melissa Kirk, an art education major at CCC, says, “I could definitely see myself stopping by the exhibit. As a student who recently changed their major to art, I am very interested in getting involved in the art program at CCC as much as possible.”
The exhibit is a chance for students, especially those involved in art, to check out what their instructors have to offer, as well as become inspired by those who teach them. As to how this exhibit could benefit an art major like herself, Kirk says, “Any art exhibits are helpful to artists. Each artist knows they will be criticized and they are always looking for new ways to expand their talent.”
The Annual Faculty Art Exhibit will be held from Nov. 13 to Dec. 13 at the Marlin Art Gallery in Lincoln Hall on the Blackwood campus. The gallery is open from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays. The artists’ reception will be held on Nov. 13. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
