The middle of April becomes very busy for academic advisement workers such as Isaac Bryant. Early fall registration means students are visiting for help picking classes and for information about Camden County College.

Bryant, 69, says the month before each semester is busy. The month before the fall and spring semesters is busier than the month before the summer sessions.
Bryant says he likes his academic advisement job at Camden County College because he likes interacting with students and helping them. He says his job is similar to a guidance counselor for a high school but more helpful by letting the students ask the academic advisement workers questions and planning for their careers. The only thing he doesn’t like about his job is the pay could be better but just about every worker says that.
Bryant majored in psychology in college. His other jobs were a public school teacher, a school psychologist and an administrator. He says education was his passion, all he wanted to be was educated and education is the key to life.
Bryant works six hours a day on a random schedule of not more than 25 hours a week. He took off a semester from teaching psychology but is most likely going to be teaching in the fall. He has never taught on the Blackwood campus but he has taught on the Cherry Hill and Camden campuses.
Camden County College student Timothy Hawkins compliments Bryant’s work. Hawkins says Bryant has helped him pick his classes and deal with financial aid. Hawkins says he will look to Bryant if he needs help.
