BLACKWOOD – Business administration, psychology, nursing, biology, education: Students majoring in these subjects in college are in the top 5 college majors in a current national ranking.
The Princeton Review lists those five majors, in that order, as the top in 2014. Camden County College offers courses in all five, as well as in a variety of other subjects ranging from culinary arts to fire science, as pathways to career aspirations.
Brett Mealey, a third-year student at CCC, has the major on the top of the list.
“I thought about what major I wanted to pursue at Camden County College and I am glad I chose business,” Mealey said.
He said the career center helped him choose his major and career path.
“My adviser at CCC helped me choose the best major for me and I am happy with the decision she led me to make,” Mealey said. “I like the business classes here at CCC and I think I will have a successful business career after I graduate.”
Jose Aguier, a second-year student at Camden County College, has a major that is not on the list.
“Although I know communications is not a very popular major at CCC, I chose it because I think it is right for me,” Aguier said.
The communications department at CCC includes areas such as public relations, media and advertising.
“I am interested in advertising specifically, and although I know advertising isn’t the most popular job, out of college, I hope to find a job I like in advertising,” Aguier said.
