The karaoke event is popular among students, said Renee Pollard, secretary of the Office of Student Life and Activities.

“The kids like it. This event is usually well attended so that is why we are doing it again,” Pollard said.

The karaoke event has taken place at Camden County College for three years. In addition to the event on the Blackwood campus, the Camden campus will hold a karaoke event on Nov. 20.

“We like to try and do things on each campus so everybody is able to participate in the same thing. We don’t want to keep it on just one campus,” Pollard said.

Several students said they were looking forward to the event.

The news of the karaoke event has some students around campus very excited. Tiayanna Randle, A third year student at Camden County College seemed thrilled when informed about the event, “Yes I would go this year,” said Tiayanna Randle, a third-year student at Camden County College. “I have wanted to do karaoke for the longest time.”

Jaquari Judge, also a third-year student at Camden County College, added, “I didn’t know we had one but it seems like a cool idea.”

Randle was already thinking about what he wanted to sing and how attendees may react. “I want to sing something old or something funny just for fun. It’s all fun,” Randle stated. “If you see someone having fun, you wouldn’t just sit there and just be bored. You would think ‘oh they’re having fun, let me get up there.’ I don’t think anyone would judge.”

The karaoke event will be free of charge.
