BLACKWOOD – The Camden County College Lady Cougars women’s basketball team beat Montgomery County College, 58-54, on Dec. 1.
The Lady Cougars took a 29-17 lead in the first half, after having endured losses against Atlantic Cape, Passaic County and Brookdale County in the several weeks prior to this game.
Montgomery County fought hard in the second half with 37 points but Camden County scored another 29 points to get its second win of the season against three losses.
The Lady Cougars had 56 rebounds, eight assists, 21 steals and five blocks. The team scored in the 48th percentile for free throws and had 37 turnovers. Starting guard Mariah Jones led the team with 19 points. Starting forward Kylea Patterson followed with 16 points and starting forward Lorraine Velez scored 12 points.
“Even though we did not win our last three games we never gave up. This game was a great one and I am happy we came out on top and able to stay focused and remain grounded throughout this whole game to come out with a win,” said Lady Cougars guard and forward Rachael Bradham.
