BLACKWOOD – Some students have complained recently about the cleanliness of the eateries on the Blackwood campus of Camden County College. The eateries include the Cougar Café, Connector Café and Lab Coat Café.
“In the (Cougar) café at Camden County College, the eating area often has tables littered with trash. Seats are also moved from their respective tables, and even when the employee comes to change the trash cans, he leaves the full bags against the wall by the condiments,” said first-year student David Donegan. “Definitely not clean, wouldn’t recommend to peers.”
Second-year student Sarah DeMayo said she has seen litter in the eating areas as well.
“I literally witnessed all the people at my table leave their trash laying on the table and I was just surrounded by trash. Then when other people came, they removed all of it,” DeMayo said. “I feel like I’m picking up more trash than the employees are.”
On a recent day at the Cougar Café, a dirty plate, coffee cups and half-eaten muffin sat on a table for three hours in the presence of cafeteria workers.
A dining services representative did not respond to a request for comment.
