As Thanksgiving is upon us, college students can take their first long break of the semester to relax and spend time with friends and families. Many students have just gone through midterms and projects, now they can enjoy the break stress free.
At Camden County College, students get ready to enjoy delicious foods and fun family activities. Several on the William G. Rohrer Campus in Cherry Hill recently discussed their plans and shared what they are thankful for.
Ben Brandreth is an esports production major at Camden County College. Brandreth is traveling to Long Island, New York, for his family’s Thanksgiving. He stated he would be leaving for the long journey on Thanksgiving Day.
He is looking forward to enjoying his break with his family, especially his grandmother, who holds a special place in his life. He is also very excited to have a good meal made by his family. Brandreth said he is thankful for his family and his privilege of autonomy with his car.
Jaden Espino, another esports production major, is getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving with family at his grandmother’s house. “After eating delicious soul food with my grandma, I can’t wait to get nuggets from Chick-fil-A,” Espino said.
He stated he is very thankful for good health, being alive, his family and the simplicity of enjoying his life how he pleases.
Eila Zaris, a communications major, is preparing for her family to come over to her house to celebrate Thanksgiving. She is getting ready to welcome her family and have a fun time relaxing and spending quality time with loved ones. She is looking forward to a day of love, health and joy.
Zaris said she is thankful for her friends and family, as well as the support her family gives her to live her life as she wants. She mentions “I’m very grateful for my good health and is blessed to be alive,” Zaris stated.
Jaden Galloza, another esports production major, is anticipating doing what he typically does for Thanksgiving, spending time at his aunt’s house with his grandmother. He is thankful for his good health and being alive.
“I’m really blessed to be born into this family,” Galloza said. For him, spending quality time with his family makes it a very thankful holiday.
