CCC Journalism Program
BLACKWOOD – Brymir Kevin Brown is an art major and track athlete at Camden County College. He is originally from Pennsauken but moved to Blackwood during middle school.
This is his second year at CCC. He competes in the triple jump, long jump, 400 meter, decathlon and 200 meter on the track team. When not in school, Brymir goes to the Giant Fitness in Blackwood and works at FedEx. He also likes to draw various anime characters.

CCC student
Brymir, or Mir as his friends call him, is a student in his second year at Camden County College, majoring in art with plans possibly to complete a bachelor’s degree program in the future.
As to why he decided to become an art major, he states, “I’ve always been really good at art, and it was just something that I believed to be easy.”
Brymir did not start going to college immediately after graduating from Highland Regional High School. This school year is his last at CCC and he has done the proper work to continue his journey. Brymir doesn’t have a personal favorite class but says he “enjoys them all.”
He also competes on the track team. Though the team has medals, it hasn’t won any championships yet because, he says, “The team isn’t big enough.”
Future plans
Brymir’s plans after he graduates are not set in stone yet. As to whether he plans to attend a four-year institution, he says, “potentially.” After getting his associate’s degree, he plans on “being a professional artist and track athlete.”
Brymir is inspired by mangaka such as the late Akira Toriyama.

Job and gym
Not only does Brymir juggle his student-athlete responsibilities but he also manages a job. He works at FedEx in Barrington as a warehouse employee. He works overnight so he can go to class in the morning without any complications.
Brymir describes his work as something that can help with his gym life. “I lift heavy boxes most of the time, so that is my workout of the day sometimes,” he says. He also describes his work as “hectic.”
He works out at the Giant Fitness in Blackwood.
“I like to go to the gym for fun. I like to draw outside of my major. Other than that, I don’t really do much besides go to the gym, work and draw,” he says.
One of Brymir’s best friends is Ricky Davis. “I met Brymir for the first time during seventh-grade English. We just hit it off and have been friends since then,” Ricky says.
Drawing and his love for anime
Apart from work and school life, Brymir’s passion is drawing. He has been drawing since elementary school and has created an art account on Instagram. He has even shown off his work to famous anime voice actors such as Kyle Hebert, the voice actor for Adult Gohan from the Dragon Ball franchise.
He describes the Dragon Ball franchise as his first love. “All of my friends watched it growing up and we all just enjoyed the show,” he says.
