BLACKWOOD – Brian Startare is an accomplished sports talk radio host who attended Camden County College from 1992 to 1995. Last June, Startare left 94.1 WIP for 97.5 The Fanatic for the long-term opportunities The Fanatic had to offer.

When Startare attended Camden County College, he majored in communications. Startare found his passion for radio hosting when he spent his time working with 91.5 WDBK Radio, which is Camden County College’s radio station. After Camden County College, Startare went on to receive a degree in communications from Rowan University.

In 2004, Startare took a big risk by competing in ESPN’s reality TV show called “Dream Job.” “Dream Job” was the first reality show from a network to offer its winner an on-air place on one of its shows. Startare competed in the second season of the show and eventually got voted off during episode 5. Startare described ESPN’s “Dream Job” as “life changing, nerve wracking, educational, fun, exciting, and a great start in the business.”

In February 2005, Startare began his career at what was then 610 WIP and now 94.1 WIP as a part-time reporter for the Eagles Radio Network and an update anchor for 610 WIP for four months. Startare first hosted his own show in June 2005. Startare is thankful to 94.1 WIP Morning Show hosts Angelo Cataldi and Rhea Hughes, who helped him get his start at 610 WIP.

During his time at WIP, Startare hosted the Philadelphia Flyers pre- and post-game show, which was his favorite show during his time at WIP. Startare’s most vivid memory at WIP was when the beloved long-time Phillies play-by-play announcer Harry Kalas died in April 2009.

When Startare left WIP for 97.5 The Fantatic last June, he was hoping for more opportunities on the radio as a host. Currently, he is hosting the Philadelphia Eagles post-game show after every game. In addition, Startare is the public address announcer for the Saint Joseph’s men’s basketball program.

97.5 The Fanatic listener Dan Beckett describes Startare’s post-game show as “a perfect way to get a rational analysis of that day’s Eagles game. Brian Startare offers great insight to every Eagles game and has always been a personal favorite.”

As of now, Startare is still hoping for long-term opportunities at 97.5 The Fanatic.

“I’m going to give it some time,” Startare said. “I am on less right now but have an eye on the future.”
